OUTPLACEMENT & CAREER TRANSITION
From an individual departure to a workforce reduction or a changing role, YoFWD is developing a way to support people who are leaving — or expect to leave — an organization: address immediate needs, recognize transferable capabilities and build the next stage with more options and better information.
Outplacement is employer-funded support for people leaving an organization. It commonly includes work on a résumé and professional profile, job search, interviews, networking and coaching.
These services can be valuable. YoFWD adds a broader transition lens before assuming the answer is another similar role: current circumstances and income reality, transferable capabilities, tasks and expertise, preferences and constraints, market conditions, possible futures and low-risk experiments.
This approach can complement traditional outplacement rather than necessarily replace it.
One person or role leaves the organization and needs structure for the transition.
A group is affected by restructuring, cost changes or a strategic decision.
Tasks or roles change because of AI, automation or a different operating model.
A team or function is reduced, reorganized or no longer operates in the same way.
Support is included as part of an agreed transition between the person and the organization.
A transition program does not replace the organization’s legal, employment or contractual obligations.
For a pilot or program, the organization and YoFWD may agree on scope and program-level indicators. Personal information and decisions remain with each participant.
There is no automatic access to personal details. Any program-level information agreed for a pilot must respect privacy and consent.
Number of people, roles, countries and seniority, where relevant.
Before, at or shortly after departure.
Immediate structure, career exploration, income recovery or a combination.
Privacy, sponsor visibility, language, geography and duration.
Participation, engagement, completion of agreed milestones, participant feedback or other indicators defined before launch.
Metrics are agreed before the pilot and do not turn individual guidance into a supervision mechanism.
First understand the circumstances, priorities and decisions the person needs to address.
Look for evidence of what the person can do and the value they can create in other contexts.
Explore more than one plausible future without prescribing a single answer.
Use conversations, observation and small tests to reduce uncertainty before committing time or money.
How it works
We discuss the departures, the context, the countries and the people who may participate.
We define scope, access, privacy boundaries and a possible pilot.
We review agreed indicators without automatic access to personal details.
The program is under development. We can discuss a concrete need and a possible pilot; we do not promise job placement or individual outcomes.
The program provides structure and information; each participant decides their next stage.
Consent and program agreements define what information may be shared.
We are preparing possible pilots. We do not guarantee job placement or individual outcomes.
