OUR APPROACH

The next stage does not start with a job title. It starts with the person.

A job title describes only part of what someone can do. YoFWD works to understand capabilities, experience, tasks, preferences, constraints and the ability to learn before exploring where all of that can create value.

Your profession does not define everything you can do.

A profession or a title is a useful signal, but it is only one part of the person.

Experience, hands-on expertise, transferable skills and the ability to learn travel with the person, not with the role.

The right next move may be in the same profession, in an adjacent field, or in something quite different.

We do not favor any of those paths in advance; we start by understanding the specific situation.

A job is a set of tasks.

Looking at work as tasks is more useful than looking at a label. Technology can automate some tasks, complement others, and create new ones.

That is why we look beyond a single “automation risk” score. We ask where human judgment, relationships, accountability, specialized expertise or physical presence keep creating value.

It is a careful, detailed way to read change, not a general warning about the future of work.

Explore the evidence on tasks, technology and the future of work.

From today's circumstances to new stability.

  1. 1

    Understand the moment

Current circumstances, urgency and any change in income.

  2. 2

    Define progress

What the person needs their next stage to improve.

  3. 3

    Recognize capabilities

Tasks, experience, expertise, strengths and potential.

  4. 4

    Understand constraints

Time, income needs, geography, responsibilities and trade-offs.

  5. 5

    Read the market

Demand, economics, technology and barriers to entry.

  6. 6

    Explore possible futures

More than one plausible path, with benefits, costs and uncertainty.

  7. 7

    Learn before betting

Low-risk experiments that gather real evidence.

  8. 8

    Choose and build

The person chooses; YoFWD helps turn that choice into next steps.

This framework explains how we think. Each person's experience may follow a different order, and the product will keep evolving as we learn.

Learn before betting.

Before investing significant time or money in a new path, we look for the cheapest, fastest and safest evidence available.

That can be a conversation with someone already doing the work, observing the task closely, a short learning module, a small project or supervised practice.

The goal is not to remove uncertainty, but to make a better-informed choice.

Explore what a career transition can include.

The decision stays with the person.

  • We do not reduce a person to a score.

We prefer explanations people can follow over opaque match scores.

  • We do not assume returning to the same job is always the answer.

Sometimes it is and sometimes it is not; that is examined, not assumed.

  • We do not replace the person's judgment.

YoFWD broadens possibilities and supplies evidence and structure; the participant decides.
